Safety and Security Update

On behalf of the Athletic Department for Florence School District Five, we would like to provide you with the changes for this upcoming school year. Please know that the safety and security of our athletes, coaches, staff, and spectators are of the utmost importance at all Florence Five sporting events.

To enhance safety at our events we are implementing the following safety protocols:

• Metal detectors may be used at all home events.

• Students in 8th grade and below must be accompanied by an adult for proper supervision during the athletic contests.

• Clear bags are required.

• Concealed weapons are not allowed.

• Re-entry is not allowed,

• At football games, canteen sales will end after the 3rd quarter.

• No entry after the 3rd quarter.

• Fans will be required to leave campus immediately following the game.

Any person causing any type of disruption will be asked to leave with no refund and will possibly be banned from all athletic events at FSD5.

Regarding ticket sales, all tickets will be sold at the gate this year. With the rising costs of referees and the additional security measures, our region voted to raise ticket costs to $10.00 for all varsity athletic and $5.00 for JV events.

To help ease the cost and reward our students, the following discounts are available:

• Any FSD5 student with an ID will be able to purchase a discounted ticket at the price of $7.00. We understand that elementary students do not have ID’s, so they will be allowed entry at the $7.00 discount with confirmation from a parent that they are a JES student. Children 5 and under will get in free.

•Students that participate in fall sports will be allowed to enter any fall athletic event for free. This also applies for spring athletes at spring events

• Season and yearly discounted passes are also available. (Contact JHS for more information.)

Thank you for your support. Let's support our Flashes as we work together to keep our schools safe.
